Blizzard shows the road from level 30 to 60
Blizzard has published a video about leveling past level 30 in World of Warcraft: Forever. In almost seven minutes it shows two of the new zones, the Riverglades and Mount Hyjal, and gives a first look at the new raid Barrow Deeps.
The beta stops at level 30 for now, so this is the first look at the second half of the road to 60. The video appeared on 19 October on the official World of Warcraft channel. It follows Your Adventure Begins, which covered the first levels.
The Riverglades for the Alliance
Where quests used to end in zones like Redridge Mountains, the Riverglades now carry on. Alliance players meet a faction from Warcraft II: the Brotherhood of the Horse, once the most elite knights of Stormwind.
After the battle of Blackrock Mountain, Turalyon led the Alliance south to the Dark Portal. The knights of the Brotherhood refused and kept hunting the last of the Horde, to protect lands that could not defend themselves. With that, they broke with Stormwind for good. Twenty years later they live at Farholde Keep in the Riverglades and still fight the old Horde.
For them, the second war never truly ended.
The Riverglades for the Horde
The Horde meets the Bolder’ok clan, ogres who left the Twilight’s Hammer after the second war. They live with enemies on all sides: their former masters hold the nearby fortress of Krol’dok Stronghold, and the humans of Farholde compete with them for the open plains.
Both factions end up fighting the Twilight’s Hammer, which has also taken Twilight’s Shroud, the westernmost stronghold of the old Horde. Around that story are smaller quests, such as wrecking a pirate operation, rescuing a horse and helping Jom-jom. Deep in ogre land, players fight the best brawlers of the ogres in the Bloodmaster’s Ring.
Mount Hyjal
Mount Hyjal is the last stop of the leveling journey. For five years Malfurion Stormrage and the druids kept it sealed, and for the first time since the Third War the road is open again. Players help the Druids of the Talon and the Cenarion Circle heal the land after the Battle of Mount Hyjal.
Horde and Alliance have lived there side by side in an uneasy truce, and with the gates open the old tension flares up again. A Curious Crow has found warlocks and activity around the Wild King, and needs help to stop them.
Barrow Deeps
Deep in Mount Hyjal lies Barrow Deeps, a new raid for 10 players. Blizzard calls it a prison that once held the most infamous betrayer of Azeroth. In the lore, Illidan Stormrage sat in the Barrow Deeps for ten thousand years. The four new zones of Forever are in the post about the zones and ports.
