Booty Bay gun loses its knockback in a hotfix

A hotfix has removed the knockback from Booty Bay Bruiser’s Buckshot on the beta of World of Warcraft: Forever. The gun for Honored with Booty Bay could blast players and NPCs away. The stats of the weapon stay the same.

Before the hotfix, the gun had a use effect: Booty Bay Bruiser Buckshot. The player takes steady aim and fires a round that knocks the target away. The shot has a 3 second cast, a range of 10 to 40 yards and a cooldown of 10 minutes.

Players on the beta discovered it this week and used it on each other, with chaotic results. Streamer Payo put a compilation on YouTube.

What remains

Only the use effect is gone. The gun keeps item level 35, 35 to 66 damage, 3 Stamina and 9 Attack Power. It still asks for level 30 and Honored with Booty Bay, and binds when picked up.

Blizzard has not commented on the change. Whether the knockback returns in another form, is not known.
