A cosmetic-only item turns up on a Gadgetzan vendor

A player has found an item in the WoW Forever beta that exists only to be worn. The Stolen Wastewander Cowl sits on the Gadgetzan reputation vendor, costs 10 gold at Revered and carries no stats. It is the first cosmetic-only item found in Forever.

A player called Gloky shared the screenshot. The tooltip says the item is Cosmetic, binds when picked up and adds its appearance to the account collection.

Why an item like this exists

Forever gets a transmog system that every player switches on or off for themselves. With it on, you see the appearances other players have chosen. With it off, you see the gear they actually wear. A cosmetic-only item is useless in the second case, except to collectors.

The Wastewander cowl covers the head and comes from the same desert bandits that give Gadgetzan its reputation grind. Revered is the second-highest standing with that faction.

Whether there are more items like it, or whether this one is an oversight that goes before launch, is not known. Blizzard has not said anything about cosmetic-only rewards on reputation vendors.
