Enhancement Shamans fight with two-handers only

Enhancement Shamans in World of Warcraft: Forever use two-handed weapons only. Blizzard shows the spec in a new video of 55 seconds. Burst comes from Rage of the Farseer, and Maelstrom Weapon makes Lightning Bolt faster and cheaper.

On 30 September Blizzard released a video about the changes to Shamans, Warriors and Rogues, writes Wowhead. Every spec was in it except Enhancement. Under that video the World of Warcraft channel promised a separate short:

Enhancement Shamans were too busy communing with the elements! Stay tuned for their own short, shortly!

That short appeared on 1 October on YouTube.

What changes

The old talent for two-handed axes and maces is now baseline, so every Enhancement Shaman fights with a two-handed weapon. Rage of the Farseer is a talent with a 3 minute cooldown that raises attack speed by 30% for 25 seconds.

With Maelstrom Weapon, melee attacks have a chance to make the next Lightning Bolt 20% faster and cheaper. It stacks up to five times. At five stacks Lightning Bolt is instant and costs no Mana, says Blizzard in the video.

Mental Quickness adds spell damage and healing worth up to 30% of Intellect. For the party, Enhancement brings Windfury Totem, a group buff that stacks with the weapon enchants of the players themselves.

Only Lightning Bolt

Maelstrom Weapon works on Lightning Bolt only, not on healing spells or Chain Lightning. The designers explain why in the second episode of the developer podcast. A hybrid damage spec must not heal too well, and the Warrior has to stay the strongest at cleave damage. Enhancement should still care about spell power on its gear.

With fewer than five points in the talent, Maelstrom Weapon never makes Lightning Bolt instant. The designers know that, and mention more damage per stack or a higher chance as options. Nothing is decided yet.
