Lockpicking opens four dungeon doors for Rogues
Rogues in World of Warcraft: Forever learn Lockpicking at level 16, just as in Classic. It opens chests, footlockers and lockboxes all over Azeroth, and at high skill it opens doors in four dungeons that otherwise need a key.
A quick start
Pick Lock comes from any Rogue trainer at level 16. You also need
Thieves’ Tools. A short quest gives them for free: Redridge Rendezvous in Stormwind for the Alliance, Wrenix of Ratchet in Orgrimmar for the Horde. Both lead to Practice Lockboxes that respawn fast, in Alther’s Mill in Redridge Mountains or on a pirate ship south of Ratchet.
The skill goes up to five times your level, so you reach 300 only at level 60. Keep up with it: both quest chains for Poisons at level 20 ask for 80 Lockpicking.
Doors instead of keys
| Dungeon | Door | Skill |
|---|---|---|
| Gnomeregan | The back door | 150 |
| Scarlet Monastery | Armory and Cathedral | 175 |
| Blackrock Depths | Shadowforge doors | 280 |
| Dire Maul | West and North wings | 300 |
From 280, the doors near the entrance of Blackrock Depths are also the safest way to the last points: open them, reset the dungeon and repeat.
Every step from 1 to 300, with a spot for each skill range, is in our new Lockpicking guide.
