Onyxia's Lair keeps its attunement quest chain

Onyxia’s Lair still needs an attunement in World of Warcraft: Forever. Players do the long quest chain from Classic, and at launch the attunement is not account-wide. The developers said so in the third episode of The WoW: Forever Podcast.

The two new raids, Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit, have no attunement quest chain. A few extra steps will still be needed to “get the full experience”, hinted the developers. What those steps are, they did not say.

Not account-wide at launch

The attunement counts per character, as in Classic, so every alt does the chain again. Whether that changes after launch, the developers did not say.

In September, Blizzard told But Why Tho? that the raids at launch ask for no attunement. That holds for the new raids. Onyxia’s Lair, a raid from Classic for 40 players, keeps its chain. More in the post of 19 September.

In the podcast

The episode of 8 October is mostly about dungeons. Raids and attunements come up at 53 minutes and 33 seconds. The 20% more experience from dungeon kills and Blackmaw Hold come from the same episode.
