The Alliance can finally buy a Kodo in Forever

A Kodo is a Horde mount, and has been for twenty years. In WoW Forever the Alliance can buy one. The Reins of the Pack Kodo sits at the Azeroth Commerce Authority for 6000 Merchant’s Favor, as found on the beta.

The vendor is Huey Sunnydale. Merchant’s Favor is the currency of the faction, and it buys more than this: crafting recipes, other mounts, toys and cosmetics.

How you earn it

The Azeroth Commerce Authority is one of two supply factions that are new to Forever, the other being Durotar Supply and Logistics on the Horde side. You loot crates out in the world, such as the Waylaid Crate: Apprentice Textiles, fill them and hand them in. Each turn-in pays Merchant’s Favor.

Both names come from Season of Discovery, where supply crates worked in a comparable way and mattered a great deal in the early phases. Blizzard has not said the system carries over unchanged.

Why a Kodo matters here

The Alliance has had exactly one Kodo before this: the Great Brewfest Kodo, from the festival in The Burning Crusade, and only for whoever was lucky. A mount you can simply work towards is different.

It also says something about the faction. A currency that buys recipes and cosmetics, with a mount at the top, is horizontal progression of the kind Blizzard kept describing at BlizzCon: a reason to keep going that is not a higher item level.

How much a crate pays, and whether there is a daily limit, the beta does not show.
