The Forever Journey miniseries starts in Norway
Blizzard has released the first episode of The Forever Journey, a miniseries about World of Warcraft: Forever. Content creators Guzu, Snupy and Stian Blipp travel through Norway and play Forever along the way. The episode lasts 24 minutes.
Blizzard announced the miniseries during its Scandinavian road trip earlier in October. That tour stopped in Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen, with beta testing, giveaways and meetups with content creators. The series does not cover those events. It is a road trip show of its own, through the landscapes of Scandinavia.
The episode went online on 24 October at 17.00 Belgian time, on the YouTube channel of World of Warcraft.
After all these years
Stian Blipp wrote a text right after Blizzard announced World of Warcraft: Forever. In it, he calls Azeroth a second home of 20 years, and Forever a way back for good.
I’ve walked this grass before.
I’ve traversed these paths, stood atop the mountains and explored the deepest chasms.
Back when life was so much, much easier.
With tears in my eyes and a tightness in my chest, I have braced myself for the day
I would be forced to say goodbye to this place.
A place that has been like a second home to me for 20 years.
A world that gave me strength.
Where the real one left me disheartened.
Where friends were always waiting.
With a cold tankard of mead.
This is my place.
I belong here.
After all these years, we’re going home.
And not just to visit.
The old warriors who we lost touch with are coming out of retirement to take up arms once more.
They’ve spruced up your youth, invited us back for good, and promised that this place will once again be our sanctuary for years to come.
Whether you’re Horde or Alliance, Gnome or Orc, Warrior or Mage.
We are damn well going back to Azeroth. Forever.
How many episodes the series has, and when the next one airs, is not known. World of Warcraft: Forever launches on 4 November.
