Two Ruins of Lordaeron quests now need a chain

Two Horde quests for the Ruins of Lordaeron need a quest chain first since the launch. The Wrath of Rath’mael comes after Rear Guard Patrol, The New Plague after three parts of A Recipe For Death. On the beta both were available right away.

Dungeon quests are worth a lot in World of Warcraft: Forever. Killing dungeon mobs gives less experience than in Classic, and the quests give more. For most of the Horde, the Ruins of Lordaeron is the second dungeon.

The development notes of 2 November already hinted at the change:

Ruins of Lordaeron dungeon quests now consistently require a minimum of level 15 to start (was a mix of 15 and 16), and some pre-requisites have been adjusted.

The Alliance picks up its four quests inside the dungeon, without a prerequisite.

The Wrath of Rath’mael

Deathguard Kristof in Brill no longer gives the quest right away. First comes a level 13 chain from Deathguard Linnea in Tirisfal Glades, at /way 65.4 60.2:

1. Rear Guard Patrol: kill 8 Bleeding Horrors and Wandering Spirits.
2. Rear Guard Patrol: kill Riptear, a level 13 elite.

After that, Deathguard Kristof hands out The Wrath of Rath’mael.

The New Plague

Theodore Griffs in the Undercity, at /way 46.6 71.8, no longer gives the quest right away either. First comes a long chain of three parts through Tirisfal Glades and Silverpine Forest. It starts with Apothecary Renferrel at The Sepulcher, /way 42.8 40.8:

1. A Recipe For Death: collect 6 items from bears and spiders, and hand them in at the Undercity. The drop rate is low.
2. A Recipe For Death: loot a book in an elite area in the south of Silverpine Forest. Looting it takes 5 seconds.
3. A Recipe For Death: loot more items with a low drop rate from level 18 creatures near the lake.

Then The New Plague opens at Theodore Griffs.
