Veterans share the advice they wish they had
A newcomer to World of Warcraft asked veterans on X for the one tip they wish they had known before their first adventure. The replies turned into a small beginner’s guide for WoW Forever.
Trenton Reed posted the question on 2 October. WoW Forever brings together longtime players, returning players and complete newcomers like him, he wrote. He did not want the perfect build, but the advice nobody gave him.
Take your time
The most common advice was not to rush. Several veterans told newcomers not to bury themselves in guides before they have even played. Go in blind, try out different abilities and discover the world on your own. One more tip: take screenshots of memorable moments, for an album of your journey.

Don’t be a stranger
The social side came up often. Make friends and quest together, or simply be nice to people. Blizzard is experimenting with social systems such as a tool to look for a group, but meeting other players in other ways is still worth it. Even a /wave can make someone’s day.
Use your consumables
Several replies told new players to use their potions and elixirs while levelling, instead of saving them for the perfect moment. Bind abilities and consumables to keys early, so a tough fight does not catch you off guard.
Pick up every flight path
Flight paths came up again and again. Talk to the flight master in every new town, warn the veterans: a missed flight point turns a later trip into a very long walk. Forever adds new points too, see the post about the eleven new routes.

Don’t fight Hogger at level 8
Newcomers do not need to know everything before they start: pick something that looks fun, explore and make friends along the way. The most important advice came from slayzdam: do not fight Hogger at level 8.
More advice from players around the world is in the thread on X.
