Hydraxian Waterlords reputation guide
Based on Classic Era. WoW Forever has not shown its reputations yet, so the numbers and rewards below can still change.
The Hydraxian Waterlords are water elementals at war with Ragnaros and his fire elementals. Their leader, Duke Hydraxis, stands on a small island off the east coast of Azshara. Most sources say every character starts at Neutral. The reputation is open to the Alliance and the Horde alike, and every raid in Molten Core needs it: without Quintessence, Majordomo Executus never appears.
Where the Hydraxian Waterlords are
On an island in the east of Azshara, around coordinates 79, 73, with Duke Hydraxis. Reaching it means a short swim.

Majordomo Executus gives no reputation. Trash stops counting at Revered; from then on, only the bosses do.
The quest chain
Duke Hydraxis sends you through a chain of quests: Poisoned Water and Stormers and Rumblers, Eye of the Emberseer, The Molten Core, Agent of Hydraxis (which needs Honored), Hands of the Enemy and A Hero’s Reward. Only A Hero’s Reward gives reputation; sources disagree on how much.
The fastest way to Exalted
- Pick up the first quests of Duke Hydraxis before your first raid in Molten Core.
- Clear all trash in Molten Core while it still counts, up to Revered.
- From Revered on, only bosses count. A full clear gives 1,050 reputation: 7 bosses of 100, Golemagg for 150 and Ragnaros for 200. Revered to Exalted is 21,000 reputation, or 20 full clears.
Rewards per standing
- Honored: Aqual Quintessence from Duke Hydraxis, after Hands of the Enemy. It douses one rune in Molten Core, and you return to the Duke for a new one.
- Revered: Eternal Quintessence, a version that does not run out.
- From the quest chain: Ocean’s Breeze and Tidal Loop, rings with fire resistance.
Dousing all seven runes in Molten Core, one near each boss that has one, summons Majordomo Executus.
