Demonology Warlock leveling guide
Demonology makes your demons stronger and you tougher. Demonic Embrace adds Stamina, Fel Stamina and Unholy Power turn your Voidwalker into a real tank, and Soul Link at level 40 moves part of the damage you take to your pet. It is the safest Warlock spec, though it kills a little slower than Affliction.
Strengths and weaknesses
- Very hard to kill with Demonic Embrace, a strong Voidwalker and Soul Link.
- Master Demonologist gives you and your pet a bonus that depends on the demon.
- Demonic Sacrifice and Fel Domination save a fight in which your pet dies.
- Less damage of your own, so fights take a little longer.
Talents by level
Level 10 to 30
- Demonic Embrace 5/5, Improved Voidwalker 3/3 and Improved Health Funnel 2/2.
- Fel Domination and Fel Stamina 5/5.
- Unholy Power 4/5, then Demonic Sacrifice at level 30.
Level 31 to 40
- Unholy Power 5/5, Master Summoner 2/2 and Improved Healthstone 1/2.
- Master Demonologist 5/5, then Soul Link at level 40.
Level 41 to 60
- In Affliction: Improved Corruption 5/5, Improved Life Tap 2/2 and Improved Drain Life 5/5.
- Improved Curse of Agony 3/3, Amplify Curse, Nightfall 2/2 and Grim Reach 2/2.
Rotation
One enemy
- Send the Voidwalker, then Curse of Agony, Corruption and Immolate.
- Shadow Bolt or your wand while the Voidwalker holds the enemy.
- Life Tap after the fight, and Health Funnel when the pet gets low.
Two enemies
- Suffering from the Voidwalker draws both enemies to it.
- Curse of Agony and Corruption on both, then Shadow Bolt on one.
- Seduction from the Succubus, from level 20, keeps a humanoid out of the fight.
Staying alive
- Soul Link from level 40 sends part of your damage to the pet.
- When the Voidwalker is about to die, Demonic Sacrifice gives you health over time, and Fel Domination summons a new demon quickly.
- Fear, a Healthstone and Death Coil from level 42 buy time.

Dungeons worth the detour: Scarlet Monastery from level 30 to 40, Zul’Farrak around 45 and Blackrock Depths from 52.
Stats, weapons and tradeskills
- Stamina and Intellect. Spirit matters little with Demonic Embrace. Shadow Damage matters more at level 60.
- The wand finishes enemies and saves mana, so upgrade it often.
- Enchants: Mana or Stats on the chest, and Stamina on the bracers.
- Tradeskills: Tailoring for cloth armor and bags, with Enchanting to craft your own wands.
