Beast Mastery Hunter leveling guide
Beast Mastery is the fastest and safest way to level a Hunter from 60 to 70. Your pet holds and kills enemies with Frenzy and Ferocious Inspiration, Bestial Wrath and The Beast Within turn both of you into killers for 18 seconds, and Steady Shot at level 62 fills the gaps between your auto shots. The same build works at level 70 in dungeons and raids.
Strengths and weaknesses
- The pet holds enemies, so you take almost no damage.
- Very little downtime, with Spirit Bond and Aspect of the Viper for mana.
- Bestial Wrath and Intimidation give burst and control.
- Weak when the pet dies, and an enemy next to you is inside your minimum range.

Rotation
One enemy
- Send the pet, cast Hunter’s Mark, then Serpent Sting and Arcane Shot.
- Steady Shot from level 62 between your auto shots, and Kill Command from level 66 after a critical strike.
- Bestial Wrath for a strong enemy, and Aspect of the Viper when your mana runs low.
Two enemies
- Let the pet hold one enemy and kill the same one, or put a Freezing Trap on the second.
- Intimidation stuns an enemy that turns to you, and Misdirection from level 70 sends your threat to the pet.
Staying alive
- Mend Pet keeps the pet alive, and Feign Death ends a fight that goes wrong.
- Frost Trap and Wing Clip slow enemies, and Disengage lowers your threat.
- Snake Trap from level 68 distracts enemies that reach you.
