Affliction Warlock leveling guide
Affliction is the strongest Warlock spec for questing alone in Outland. Unstable Affliction adds another damage over time spell, Empowered Corruption and Contagion make your curses hit harder, and Siphon Life and Drain Life heal you while enemies slowly die. Seed of Corruption at level 70 spreads damage over whole groups.
Strengths and weaknesses
- Damage over time on two or three enemies at once, while your pet and Fear keep them busy.
- Siphon Life, Drain Life, Life Tap and Dark Pact keep health and mana high.
- Fel Armor at level 62 adds spell damage and healing from your own spells.
- Slow to kill a single enemy with a lot of health.

At level 60
- In Affliction: Suppression 5/5, Improved Corruption 5/5, Improved Life Tap 2/2, Soul Siphon 2/2, Improved Curse of Agony 2/2, Amplify Curse, Grim Reach 2/2 and Nightfall 2/2.
- Empowered Corruption 3/3, Siphon Life, Curse of Exhaustion, Shadow Mastery 5/5, Contagion 5/5, Dark Pact, Malediction 3/3 and Unstable Affliction, for 41 points.
- In Demonology: Demonic Embrace 5/5, Improved Health Funnel 2/2 and Improved Voidwalker 3/3.
Level 61 to 70
- Fel Domination, Fel Stamina 3/3 and Demonic Aegis 3/3.
- Unholy Power 3/5, for 20 points in Demonology.
Rotation
One enemy
- Send the Voidwalker or Felhunter, then Unstable Affliction, Corruption, Curse of Agony and Siphon Life.
- Drain Life while the damage over time works, and an instant Shadow Bolt whenever Nightfall gives you Shadow Trance.
- Life Tap after the fight, and Dark Pact to take mana from your pet.
Two enemies
- Corruption and Curse of Agony on both, then Fear the second enemy and let the damage over time run.
- Seed of Corruption from level 70 on a group, and Howl of Terror when several enemies reach you.
Staying alive
- Fel Armor from level 62, and a Healthstone for emergencies.
- Death Coil horrifies an enemy and heals you, and Sacrifice from the Voidwalker absorbs damage.
- Soulshatter from level 66 drops your threat in a group.

Dungeons worth the detour: Hellfire Ramparts and The Blood Furnace from level 60, The Slave Pens and The Underbog around 62, and Mana-Tombs and Auchenai Crypts from 64.
Stats, weapons and tradeskills
- Spell Damage and Shadow Damage first, then Hit, Stamina and Intellect.
- A staff, or a one-handed weapon with an off-hand item, with Spell Damage, and a wand with Spell Damage.
- Enchants: Major Spellpower on the weapon and the gloves, and Spellpower on the bracers.
- Tradeskills: Tailoring for the Frozen Shadoweave set, with Enchanting to disenchant what you replace.
