Every beta tester gets 16 Legacy points

Every tester in the World of Warcraft: Forever beta will get 16 Legacy points for free. Blizzard wants the system tested without players first levelling several classes. The grant comes in a later week of the beta, the exact week is not known.

Community manager Kaivax announced it on 1 October on the forums. Over the first two weeks of the beta, more and more testers chased Legacy points, he writes:

Over the first two weeks of the WoW Forever Beta, we’ve seen an increasing number of testers pushing to earn points in the Legacy system.

In a future week of the Beta, we’re planning to grant all testers 16 Legacy points so that the system can be tested without first requiring a great deal of leveling different classes, clearing dungeons, etc.

Once applied, we expect to keep that grant in place until the end of the Beta.

What 16 points buy

Legacy points come from challenges: a first level 25 on a class, a skill milestone in a tradeskill, a first clear of a dungeon. Each challenge is worth one point. With 16 points a tester can try several nodes in the Legacy tree right away.

Which nodes fit within 16 points can be checked in the Legacy calculator. The grant only applies to the beta. Whether characters at launch start with any points, Blizzard does not say.
