Forever gets a Roleplay-PvP ruleset after all
World of Warcraft: Forever gets a Roleplay-PvP ruleset after all. Blizzard adds it for the launch on 4 November. It wants players to pick it already during Early Name Reservation, which opens on Tuesday 27 October.
Game developer Aggrend announced it on the official forums on 22 October: “We will add a Roleplay-PVP Ruleset for launch on November 4.”
A change of course
In episode 4 of the developer podcast, the team still ruled out an RP-PvP ruleset. The RP-PvP realm of Season of Discovery lost its RP tag after about three months, and a separate ruleset would split the small RP community further. Blizzard says it kept discussing the topic internally and watched player feedback. “Over the last few days, we’ve carefully examined what it would take to add it to WoW Forever and decided to go for it.”
Five rulesets
Forever has no realm list. A player picks a ruleset, and that decides who they play with. Roleplay-PvP joins Normal, PvP, Roleplaying and Hardcore. How it works exactly is not announced yet. On the PvP ruleset a player can only make characters of one faction; whether that also applies to Roleplay-PvP is not known.
Name reservation
Blizzard is working to have Roleplay-PvP ready for Early Name Reservation on 27 October at 18:00 Belgian time. Whether that works out is not certain yet. During the reservation, a player can hold three names across all rulesets together.
