Fury Warriors get three new talents

Fury Warriors in World of Warcraft: Forever get three new talents: Lingering Rage, Furious Precision and Gore Drinker. Two talents disappear. Blizzard reworked the tree after a bug with the off-hand, it says in a post about the beta build of 1 October.

Community manager Kaivax posted the changes at 04.57 Belgian time on 2 October. They were already in the build, but came after the general notes. Critical strikes now give 100% more Rage instead of 75%.

The bug that started it

Dual Wield Specialization gave its bonus to hit to both weapons instead of only the off-hand. Because of that, the tests of Blizzard were off, and the designers made another pass on Fury:

Our goal here is to give Fury more access to utility and meaningful choices early in the tree for leveling, and free up points later for more choices instead of being stuck placing points into Enrage to get Flurry.

The bug is fixed. Dual Wield Specialization now no longer gives hit to the off-hand at all.

Three new talents

Talent Row What it does
Lingering Rage 2 Rage starts to decay 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 seconds later after combat
Furious Precision 3 4, 7 or 10% more chance to hit with the off-hand
Gore Drinker 6 Enrage, Berserker Rage, Bloodrage, Death Wish and Bloodthirst make your next 3 melee attacks restore 0.5 or 1% of your maximum Health; requires Enrage

The rest of Fury

  • Flurry now requires Death Wish, no longer Enrage.
  • Whirlwind always strikes with both weapons, without a talent point.
  • Raging Blows lowers the Rage cost of Cleave and Whirlwind by 3 and no longer adds the off-hand to Whirlwind.
  • Booming Voice raises the area of your Shouts by 10 to 50% and lowers their Rage cost by 5 to 25%.
  • Unbridled Wrath no longer gives twice as much Rage with two-handed weapons.
  • Blood Craze no longer triggers from Bloodthirst.
  • Bloodthirst scales with 45% of Attack Power, up from 35%.
  • Improved Berserker Rage moves to row 5, and Berserker Rage comes at level 30 instead of 32.
  • Improved Cleave and Boundless Rage are gone.

Protection without a shield

Blizzard wants Protection to work as a PvP spec for Warriors without a shield, with a clear path to the middle of the tree. Iron Will moves from row 2 of Fury to row 1 of Protection. Improved Bloodrage moves to row 1, Anticipation and Improved Revenge to row 2, Improved Disarm to row 3 and Improved Shield Bash to row 4. Toughness is gone.

What the new tree looks like can be checked in the talent calculator. Earlier this week Blizzard showed the first changes for Warriors and Priests.
