Gold for a carry must come from the buyer

Blizzard took action against a new round of accounts that bought gold for real money. Some buyers had the seller deliver that gold to another player who sold them a service, such as a raid carry. Gold for a carry must come directly from the buyer.

Kaivax of Blizzard posted the notice on the forums on 27 October at 22:52 Belgian time. Gold that reaches you through an intermediate player is very likely illicit gold from such a deal, according to Blizzard. Buying gold with real money from a third party is known as RMT.

To avoid a suspension and the removal of that gold, the player who buys the carry, or any other service, should trade the gold directly to the player who provides it. Guilds are at risk as well:

Guilds that provide carries to players, who pay for them with gold that comes from an intermediate, are at risk of seeing that gold removed by Blizzard.

How many accounts were hit, what the action was in each case and whether WoW Forever accounts were among them, Blizzard does not say. A player in the thread asks whether a finder’s fee for arranging a carry is still allowed. Blizzard has not answered that yet.

During the beta, Blizzard already closed over 2,100 accounts of gold buyers, and an economy hold freezes trade for accounts suspected of RMT. GDKP is not allowed in Forever.
