Horde access to Dalaran is not intended
Horde players who finish the new City of Dalaran dungeon on the beta can walk into Dalaran. That was not the plan, says Blizzard. Josh Greenfield wants to look at it on 9 October and expects adjustments.
Until this week, Dalaran was open to the Alliance only. After the dungeon of the fourth beta week, a short quest now lets Horde players into the city.
Not the intended design
Greenfield, Senior Game Designer at Blizzard and known as Aggrend, reacted on X in the night of 8 to 9 October. Full access to Dalaran for the Horde “isn’t really intended”, he writes. He does not go into the design of the city and calls it a typical beta problem.
Kirin Tor reputation
Horde players also earned reputation with the Kirin Tor in the city. A player asked whether that was intended. No, Greenfield answered: he has already fixed it, but the fix only reaches the beta next week.
What the adjustment for the city will look like is not known. Blizzard does not say whether reputation already earned on the beta will be removed.
The way in for both factions and the seven bosses are in the dungeon guide for the City of Dalaran.
