The beta level cap rises from 20 to 30
Blizzard raises the level cap of the World of Warcraft: Forever beta from 20 to 30. The beta goes offline on 1 October for maintenance and returns several hours later with a new build. That build also brings changes and fixes.
Community manager Kaivax announced it on the forums at 02.17 Belgian time on 1 October:
Tomorrow morning PDT, we will take the WoW Forever Beta offline for maintenance. Several hours later, the Beta will resume with an updated build that includes changes and fixes, with the level cap raised to 30.
We’ll have all the details here tomorrow.
Morning in Pacific time falls in the afternoon and evening in Belgium: 08.00 PDT is 17.00 Belgian time. Blizzard gives no exact hour for the start of the maintenance, and no end time either.
What is not known yet
Which changes and fixes the build contains, Blizzard does not say yet. The development notes follow later on 1 October, according to Kaivax. The notes of the previous build, from 24 September, are in the post on that build.
Whether new quests, zones or dungeons open with the higher cap, is not known either.
Level 30 until the end of the beta
The beta opened on 17 September with a cap of 20. The cap of 30 stays for the rest of the beta, Blizzard said earlier in an interview with Destin. The beta ends on 21 October. At the launch on 4 November everyone starts again at level 1.
The Forever Open, the dueling tournament with 100,000 dollars in prize money, is played on the beta with level 30 characters on 17 and 18 October.
