The first Collector's Editions arrive at home
The first players have their physical Collector’s Edition of World of Warcraft: Forever at home. A player from the United Kingdom shared photos of the box on Reddit on 13 October, three weeks before the launch on 4 November.
The box sold out within minutes, and a second batch was gone again quickly as well. The centrepiece is a statue of the Dwarf hunter and his bear from the cinematic, 13 inches or about 33 centimetres tall, next to art prints, pins and a journal.
Bought in the EU store, with express shipping
The player lives in the UK and ordered in the European Blizzard Gear Store. Express shipping was the only option for them. The shipping mail came a week earlier, and the box left the same day. A card with a code sits on top of the box, for the reservation of your character names.
Other players in Europe got theirs on the same day.
Many others are still waiting. Some orders still say “preparing for shipping”, and one player heard from Blizzard that theirs comes at the end of November. Orders from the second batch, placed from 24 September on, ship in February 2027.
Limited in time instead of in number?
Under the post, players who missed the box shared their frustration. One of them would rather see the Collector’s Edition sold for a limited time than in a limited number.
Blizzard has not said whether more copies will follow. The team does collect feedback from forums, social media and comments on YouTube, so that is the place to make the wish heard.
A tip from the comments, not confirmed by Blizzard: wait with redeeming the codes. According to a player, the 30 days of game time of the physical box start right away, while those of the digital edition only start on 4 November.
