The stress test moves to 21 October
Blizzard has moved the stress test of World of Warcraft: Forever to Wednesday 21 October. It was announced for 19 October, two days earlier. Community manager Kaivax put the new date on the official forums: “This test is now taking place on October 21”. Blizzard gives no reason for the move.
The start times stay the same, only the day changes. Every player with a World of Warcraft account can join, without a subscription, Game Time, invitation or beta access.
When
| Region | Start |
|---|---|
| Europe | 21 October, 19:00 CEST (Belgian time) |
| Americas and Oceania | 21 October, 14:00 PDT |
| Taiwan | 22 October, 05:00 |
| Korea | 22 October, 06:00 |
What happens that day
Blizzard first takes the beta offline. Then World of Warcraft: Forever opens on the regional hardware that it will run on after launch, on production realms, for a few hours. Blizzard asks players to make a character, do a few quests, trade items, chat and group up, so problems show up now and not on launch day.
When the test ends, every character is deleted. It is a complete wipe: names, guilds and everything else are removed. After that, the beta reopens.
21 October was already the last full day of the beta, so the stress test now falls on that same day.
What stays the same
You join the same way as before: choose World of Warcraft: Forever Stress Test in the Game Version menu of the Battle.net app and install it. The steps are in our post about the stress test. Early Name Reservation still runs from 27 October to 3 November, and the launch follows on 4 November. All dates are on the Forever hub.
