Darkmoon Faire reputation guide

The Darkmoon Faire is the travelling carnival of Silas Darkmoon, with exotic vendors, games, fortunes and prizes. Alliance and Horde can both visit. Every character starts at Neutral. In Classic Era the reputation gives nothing beyond the usual change in vendor prices.

Where and when the faire stands

The faire comes once a month and alternates between two places:

• Elwynn Forest: just south of Goldshire, below the east-west road. Horde visitors should watch out for the guards of Goldshire at the north edge.
• Mulgore: southwest of Thunder Bluff, well away from the Horde guards.

The faire is timed around the start of the month. It begins to set up on a Friday, opens the Monday after and closes on the following Sunday. During setup, the vendors, games and quest givers are not available yet. Melnan Darkstone in Ironforge and Kruban Darkblade in Orgrimmar announce its arrival.

Where the reputation comes from

Ticket turn-ins

Every turn-in gives 100 reputation and a number of Darkmoon Faire Prize Tickets. The quests come in five tiers, each with a minimum level and a reputation limit; once you pass the limit, that quest disappears.

Several players report in the comments on Wowhead that tier 5 already stops giving reputation at about 2,000 into Friendly, while the turn-in itself stays available for tickets.

You do not need the profession: the items can be made by an alt or bought on the Auction House.

Darkmoon decks

Past the ticket limits, only Darkmoon decks give reputation: 150 per deck, handed to Professor Thaddeus Paleo. A deck is eight cards, Ace to Eight, combined into one item. The Aces drop from specific bosses; the other cards drop at random from undead and humanoids of level 45 to 60.

The cards can be traded, the trinkets are Bind on Pickup and need level 60.

The fastest way to Exalted

1. Turn in each tier while your level and standing still allow it; a tier you skip disappears once you pass its limit.
2. After that, only decks count. Wowhead counts about 220 decks to Exalted, so it is a goal for collectors only.
