Cata ClassicSkill 450-525Gathering

Skinning in Cata Classic runs from 450 to 525 by skinning the beasts and dragonkin of the Cataclysm zones. Once the creatures in Mount Hyjal stop giving skill around 505, move on to the level 85 beasts.

Trainers and tips

  • Illustrious Grand Master Skinning is taught by Maris Granger in Stormwind City for the Alliance and Thuwd in Orgrimmar for the Horde, and by the other skinning trainers in the capital cities.
  • If the quests in Mount Hyjal have changed Sethria’s Roost, skin the Young Twilight Drakes at Sulfuron Spire instead. From 505, Darkwood Lurkers and Darkwood Broodmothers on Tol Barad Peninsula and Baradin Crocolisks in Tol Barad work as well as Twilight Highlands.
  • Most creatures give Savage Leather and Savage Leather Scraps. Dragonkin give Blackened Dragonscale, and the sea creatures of Vashj’ir give Deepsea Scale. Skinning also gives Master of Anatomy, a passive bonus to critical strike rating.
