A Dark Iron Map opens the main Hall of Thanes quest

The main quest of the Hall of Thanes in World of Warcraft: Forever starts with a map. It drops from Dark Iron Spies in Dun Morogh, which mapped all five quests of the dungeon. The other four start at the dungeon itself.

The chain in Dun Morogh

Earthseer Farsen stands at /way 64.8 58.5 in Dun Morogh and gives Nip ’Em in the Bud: slay 10 Dark Iron Spies around /way 76.7 60.7. One of them drops a Dark Iron Map. Used from the bags, it starts a short quest back to Farsen, who then gives Old Ironforge Incursion.

That quest asks for the head of Durgen Dirgehammer, the final boss. It goes to King Magni Bronzebeard in Ironforge.

Four quests at the dungeon

  • Important Heirlooms, from Thom Filch by the bridge into the dungeon: collect 8 Dwarven Heirlooms. The vaults in the last room hold enough for a full group.
  • The Restless Dead, from Afadra Dunwall up the stairs from the entrance: slay 15 Enraged Apparitions and 10 Tormented Souls.
  • An Ancient Grudge, from a Ghostly Attendant in the second room: put the spirit of Faldrim Anvilmar, the first boss, to rest.
  • The Treaty of Understanding, from a tablet behind a vault door in the room of the final boss. It only asks to bring the treaty to Magni Bronzebeard.

Each quest gives between 3,900 and 4,900 experience. Three of them are listed at level 15 and Old Ironforge Incursion at level 16.

Every step, with the coordinates, the rewards and seven screenshots, is in the guide to the Hall of Thanes quests. How the four bosses work is in the walkthrough of the dungeon.

Whether the Horde may take the quests is still not clear. The sources contradict each other on that point.
