Blizzard closes the beta and thanks the testers
The beta of World of Warcraft: Forever closed on 23 October, after five weeks of testing. Blizzard thanks the players on the forums. Character creation opens on Tuesday 27 October, and the game launches on 4 November.
The beta ended at 19:00 Belgian time. Blizzard had extended it by two days, as described in the post about the beta staying open.
The WoW Forever Beta is now closed, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us over the last five weeks of playtesting, data gathering, bug reporting, and feedback.
We’re now quickly moving into a period of a few short days where we will do some focused work on priority issues and the game service itself, so that it will be in good shape for launch day on November 4.
A few days of focused work
In the coming days Blizzard works on priority issues and on the game service itself, so that the game is in good shape on launch day. Which issues these are, Blizzard does not say.

Ruleset and name before launch
On 27 October the character creation system opens. Players then choose a ruleset and a name before the game itself is live, says Blizzard. Who can reserve and from what time is in the post about early name reservation; Europe opens at 18:00 Belgian time. How the rulesets work is explained in the post about the rulesets.
The podcast continues
The WoW: Forever Podcast continues next week, writes Blizzard. Five episodes have appeared so far, one per week of the beta. A sign in episode 5 already said so, as described in the post about the podcast. What the next episode is about, is not known.
