Blizzard: datamined mounts are not for Forever

The newest beta build of World of Warcraft: Forever, from the evening of 16 October, contains a batch of new collectibles: three mounts, three pets, a toy and two transmog sets. Dataminers found them within hours. Many players said the models do not fit the classic look of Forever. That same night, community manager Kaivax answered on the official forums:

“A number of art assets were recently datamined in the latest Beta build of WoW Forever. While we appreciate the feedback and discussion online, please be advised that these assets are not intended for this version of World of Warcraft.”

So these items are not coming to Forever, at least not for now. Which version they are meant for, Blizzard does not say. The versions of World of Warcraft share a lot of files, and assets for one version sometimes turn up in the data of another.

The mounts

All three need level 60 and Journeyman Riding, and count for the whole account.

Pets and a toy

The pets are Pinky, Gill’el and Blossoming Ancient, which changes with the seasons.

The toy Adventurer’s Tent puts down a small tent for 15 minutes. Every Camp Tent you place in that time gets the look of the Adventurer’s Tent. How camping works in Forever, is in our camping guide.

Transmog

The look of Forever is a sensitive topic. Blizzard already promised standard definition models for the Skyborne after criticism of the HD druid forms. And the first cosmetic-only item on the beta is a plain old cowl from a Gadgetzan vendor.
