Rogue Poisons get more charges and a guide

Rogue Poisons in WoW Forever carry about half again as many charges as in Classic, the game data of the beta shows. Instant Poison gets 60 instead of 40. A new guide covers the quests at level 20, every rank and the reagents.

More charges

Every rank gains charges. Deadly Poison goes from 60 to 90, Mind-numbing Poison from 50 to 75 and Wound Poison from 60 to 90. At the top, Instant Poison VI has 175 instead of 115 and Deadly Poison V 180 instead of 120. Crippling Poison has no charges and lasts 30 minutes, as before.

The chance to apply a poison stays the same at every rank: 20% for Instant Poison and Mind-numbing Poison, 30% for the others, before talents.

Crits and attack power

Poisons can also land critical strikes, scale with attack power and stay on the weapon next to a Sharpening Stone. Malice now raises the crit chance of poisons too. Improved Poisons gives a chance not to use a charge, and the new finishing move Venom adds 30% poison damage.

The quests at level 20

Alliance Rogues start with Mathias and the Defias in Stormwind and end up in a Defias tower in Westfall. Horde Rogues start with The Shattered Salute in Orgrimmar and climb a Venture Co. tower in the Barrens, the harder of the two chains. Both need 80 Lockpicking. At level 22, Vanish and Distract make the towers much safer.

The chest at the top of each tower gives Touch of Zanzil, a debuff that hinders Stealth for seven days. Anti-Venom, a Shaman or Druid, or the last quests of the chain remove it.

Skill and ranks

Poisons work like a profession. Every poison you make gives a skill point, with any recipe, up to five times your level. Higher ranks ask for a minimum skill: 200 for Instant Poison IV at level 44, 250 for Deadly Poison IV at level 54.
