Warlocks won 79 percent of their finals duels

Warlocks won 79 percent of their duels against other classes in the finals of the Forever Open, the dueling tournament on the beta. Mages did worst, with 25 percent. The figures cover every finals duel between two different classes.

Win rate per class

A player counted every duel of the finals and shared the result on Reddit. Duels between two players of the same class are left out.

Class Win rate Won-lost
Warlock 79% 26-7
Shaman 63% 19-11
Paladin 55% 16-13
Druid 46% 12-14
Priest 43% 9-12
Hunter 39% 7-11
Rogue 31% 5-11
Warrior 27% 4-11
Mage 25% 4-12

Only Warlocks, Shamans and Paladins won more than half of their duels. The tournament was played at level 30, so the balance at level 60 can look very different. The winner was a Warlock too: Warlockguy beat Neepzen, also a Warlock, in the grand final.

Two trinkets

Two trinkets stood out in the finals: Transformative Cocoon and Goblin Mortar. The mortar did not always help its owner. In one duel it backfired twice.

A concert and Azuregos

Blizzard gave the finalists their own part of Mount Hyjal, Hyjal Crater. After the tournament the Tauren Chieftains performed there. Game masters then spawned Azuregos among the players.

TipsOut organised the Forever Open, with 100,000 dollars in prizes.
