Arms Warrior leveling guide

TBC AnniversaryLevel 60-70Melee DPS

Arms is the steadiest way to take a Warrior from 60 to 70 in Outland. Mortal Strike and a slow two-handed weapon carry the damage, Endless Rage keeps your rage bar full, and Victory Rush at level 62 heals you after every kill. Quest rewards in Outland replace your old gear quickly, so a good weapon is never far away.

Strengths and weaknesses

  • Works with any two-handed weapon and forgives weaker gear.
  • Victory Rush and Second Wind cut the time you spend eating.
  • Mortal Strike and Deep Wounds hit hard against single enemies.
  • No Sweeping Strikes in this build, so large pulls stay dangerous.

Talents by level

At level 60

  • In Arms: Improved Heroic Strike 3/3, Deflection 3/5, Improved Charge 2/2, Improved Thunder Clap 3/3, Improved Overpower 2/2, Anger Management and Deep Wounds 3/3.
  • Two-Handed Weapon Specialization 5/5, Impale 2/2, Poleaxe Specialization, Mace Specialization or Sword Specialization 5/5 to match your weapon, Death Wish, Mortal Strike, Blood Frenzy 2/2, Second Wind 2/2, Improved Mortal Strike 5/5 and Endless Rage, for 41 points.
  • In Fury: Cruelty 5/5 and Unbridled Wrath 5/5.

Level 61 to 70

  • Commanding Presence 5/5 for a stronger Battle Shout.
  • Enrage 5/5, for 20 points in Fury.

Rotation

One enemy

  • Charge in Battle Stance, Rend when the fight will last, then Mortal Strike on cooldown.
  • Overpower after a dodge, Heroic Strike when your rage is high, and Execute below 20% health.
  • Victory Rush from level 62 after every kill: it costs nothing and heals you.

Two enemies

  • Thunder Clap and Demoralizing Shout, then Mortal Strike and Cleave on the first enemy.
  • Death Wish or Retaliation when a pull turns out too big.

Staying alive

  • Second Wind gives health and rage whenever you are stunned or rooted.
  • Intimidating Shout to break away, and Hamstring on enemies that flee.
  • Bandages and food between fights, and a Healthstone from a Warlock for emergencies.

Stats, weapons and tradeskills

  • Strength first, then Crit, Hit and Expertise.
  • The slowest two-handed weapon you can find, of the type that matches your weapon specialization.
  • Enchants: Mongoose on the weapon once gold allows it, Brawn on the bracers and Assault on the gloves.
  • Tradeskills: Mining with Blacksmithing, or Mining with Jewelcrafting for your own gems. Skinning pays well in Outland.
