Epics and Azuregos as the beta says goodbye
Blizzard says goodbye to the beta of World of Warcraft: Forever with a 24-hour celebration. Until Friday at 19:00 Belgian time, infernals fall from the sky in seven starting zones, ordinary monsters drop epics and Azuregos and Kazzak appear.
Seven zones, one last time
The celebration started on Thursday 22 October at 19:00 Belgian time, a day before the beta closes for good. It runs in Zephras Isle, Dun Morogh, Elwynn Forest, Teldrassil, Durotar, Tirisfal Glades and Mulgore. Blizzard promises “24 hours of shenanigans and upheaval” and asks testers to log in “for one last time”.
Johanna Faries, the president of Blizzard, shared a poster for the “Beta Farewell Tour” on X. It names Azuregos and Kazzak, “and more”. Earlier today, Aggrend already hinted that logging in tonight would be worth it.
What players find
Infernals and other enemies drop from the sky, the way the beta of the original World of Warcraft ended in 2004. Ordinary monsters have new loot tables full of epics, such as Staff of Dominance and Quick Strike Ring. They come with a low level requirement and not the full stats, but they are purple.
One player in Elwynn Forest got Choker of Enlightenment, Lawbringer Bracers and Spinal Reaper from a single Young Wolf. Vendors also sell potions that triple your experience, so a new character on Zephras Isle levels a lot faster tonight.
Not part of the launch
Blizzard warns that the celebration “almost certainly” includes items and experiences that will not be in WoW Forever after launch. The beta ends on Friday 23 October at 19:00 Belgian time. Early Name Reservation opens on Tuesday 27 October, and the launch follows on 5 November at 00:00 Belgian time.
