Excavation Site opens, City of Dalaran comes later

The World of Warcraft: Forever beta gets one new dungeon this week: the Excavation Site in the Wetlands, for levels 26 to 31. Blizzard had listed 24 to 29 before; the notes of the build say 26 to 31. The City of Dalaran is not in the new build. That dungeon follows in a later beta update.

In the second episode of the developer podcast, Josh Greenfield said that two new dungeons were coming this week. The senior game designer corrected that on X at 18.26 Belgian time on 1 October, Wowhead reports:

The Excavation Site arrives with the build that raises the level cap to 30. The beta went offline for it around 20.00 on 1 October.

What is known about the dungeon

The Excavation Site is one of the new dungeons of Forever and sits between the Ruins of Lordaeron and the City of Dalaran in level, as the overview of dungeons shows. Where in the Wetlands the entrance lies, how many bosses it holds and which quests lead into it, Blizzard has not said yet.

The City of Dalaran is a dungeon for levels 28 to 33. Its two entrances can already be found in Dalaran, but the dungeon itself does not open this week. When it does, Blizzard does not say.
