Thunderfury and a Scourge plague ended the beta
The beta of World of Warcraft: Forever went out with a bang. In its last hours, world bosses roamed the starting zones, Sulfuras and Thunderfury dropped, ordinary mobs handed out Tier 1, and the Scourge plague of 2008 spread across Azeroth once more.
Blizzard had announced 24 hours of chaos for the end of the beta. It closed on 23 October at 19:00 Belgian time.
A goblin with beta goods
First, a new NPC appeared in front of the capital cities: Gabbi Goodwhistle, Specialty Beta Goods & Training. She sold fireworks, a scroll that speeds up you and the players around you, and an elixir that raises the experience you gain by 200% for an hour.

World bosses in the starting zones
Then the world bosses came: Azuregos, a “Super” Hogger, Voracious, Thunderaan and Lord Kazzak. Super Hogger, Bane of Elwynn, carried a flaming axe through Elwynn Forest.

Legendaries and Tier 1
The bosses dropped familiar legendaries, among them Sulfuras,
Hand of Ragnaros and Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker. On top of that, mobs in every starting zone dropped the full Tier 1 sets of Classic, with their set bonuses, and weapons from Molten Core. Blizzard warned beforehand that the celebration almost certainly included items that will not be in the game after launch.
The plague of 2008
As if that was not enough, Blizzard brought back the contaminated crates of the Scourge invasion from
Wrath of the Lich King in 2008. The plague spread across Azeroth once more. A clip from the stream of Esfand shows it.
What comes next
Early Name Reservation opens on Tuesday 27 October, and WoW Forever launches on 5 November at 00:00 Belgian time.
