Fury Warrior leveling guide

Classic EraLevel 1-60Melee DPS

Fury fights with two one-handed weapons and turns Crit into rage through Flurry and Enrage. Before Bloodthirst at level 40 the spec levels more slowly than Arms and misses more often. Many Warriors level as Arms and switch to Fury at level 60.

Strengths and weaknesses

  • Two weapons give a steady stream of rage once Crit and Hit are in place.
  • Bloodthirst from level 40 hits hard and restores a little health on the next attacks.
  • Two weapons miss far more often than one, so Hit is worth more than for Arms.
  • Death Wish raises the damage you take, and there is no real self-healing.

Talents by level

Level 10 to 25

  • Cruelty 5/5, then Unbridled Wrath 5/5 for extra rage from normal hits.
  • Improved Battle Shout 5/5.

Level 26 to 40

  • Dual Wield Specialization 5/5 and Enrage 5/5.
  • Death Wish, then Flurry for attack speed after a critical strike.
  • Bloodthirst at level 40.

Level 41 to 60

  • The last point in Flurry and Improved Berserker Rage 2/2, for 34 points in Fury.
  • In Arms: Improved Heroic Strike 3/3, two points in Deflection, Tactical Mastery 5/5, Anger Management, Deep Wounds 3/3, one point in Improved Overpower and Impale 2/2, for 17 points.

Rotation

One enemy

  • Battle Stance up to level 30. After the Berserker Stance quest at level 30, fight in Berserker Stance.
  • Open with Charge from Battle Stance, then switch. Keep Battle Shout up.
  • Bloodthirst on cooldown, Heroic Strike with rage to spare and Execute below 20% health.

Two or three enemies

  • Whirlwind in Berserker Stance, and Cleave with rage to spare.
  • Demoralizing Shout lowers the damage the whole group deals to you.

Staying alive

  • Save Death Wish for enemies you can kill quickly: it also raises the damage you take.
  • Berserker Rage makes you immune to Fear, which helps against casters that fear.
  • Retaliation and Intimidating Shout when a pull goes wrong, and bandages between fights.

Stats, weapons and tradeskills

  • Hit comes right after Strength: two weapons miss often without it. Then Crit, which feeds Flurry and Enrage.
  • A slower weapon in the main hand and a faster one in the off hand. Humans with swords or maces and Orcs with axes get extra weapon skill from their racials.
  • Enchants: Crusader on both weapons once gold allows it, Strength on the bracers and Strength or Agility on the gloves.
  • Tradeskills: Mining with Engineering for bombs that stun, or Mining with Blacksmithing for weapons. Skinning pays for training along the way.
