Beta goes down for a new build with many fixes

The World of Warcraft: Forever beta went offline at 22.15 Belgian time on 15 October. Blizzard is installing a new build with “quite a few changes and fixes”. The full development notes follow once the build has been tested.

Community manager Kaivax announced it on the American forums at 22.00 Belgian time, a quarter of an hour before the realms went down:

We’re planning to take the WoW Forever Beta down in about 15 minutes, at 1:15 p.m. PDT.

This will be a maintenance period that includes deploying and testing a new build of the game, and that build has quite a few changes and fixes.

We’ll have a full update to the Development Notes for you when we get through the updating and the testing. See you on the other side!

1.15 p.m. PDT is 22.15 in Belgium. An end time is not given. A day earlier the beta was offline for a couple of hours for internal tests, without a new build.

What may be in it

Which changes the build brings, Blizzard does not say yet. Josh Greenfield said on 8 October that the racials of Orcs and Trolls would probably change in this week’s update. Whether that happens in this build, is not known.

The Battle.net launcher shows a stress test on 19 October. Whether the new build is meant for that test, is not known either.
