Battle Shout and totems now buff the whole raid
Battle Shout,
Trueshot Aura,
Leader of the Pack and Moonkin Aura now reach the whole raid in World of Warcraft: Forever, and so do four Shaman totems. Blizzard made the change in the beta build of 15 October, together with changes for all nine classes.
Until now these buffs only reached the group of the player who brought them. In a raid of 20 that tied up up to 17 places. The development notes list the change without an explanation. The new racials of the same build are in a separate post.
Raid wide from now on
| Class | Buff |
|---|---|
| Warrior | |
| Hunter | |
| Druid | |
| Shaman |
Leader of the Pack now only raises melee and ranged critical strike chance, and Moonkin Aura only spell critical strike chance. Grace of Air Totem now stacks with Windfury Totem and Flametongue Totem; those two still exclude each other, and they only affect players.
Stand still to shoot
Wands and
Auto Shot now require the player to stand still for 0.5 seconds before shooting, as in early versions of World of Warcraft. A Hunter still fires Auto Shot while casting
Aimed Shot or
Sniper Shot. A new setting lets Hunters switch between auto attack and Auto Shot automatically, also on a gamepad.
Druid
Faerie Fire now generates threat in
Bear Form and Dire Bear Form.
Shred rank 1 is learned at level 20 (was 22).- Feral:
Furor keeps the Energy of the last
Cat Form, also after a switch to Bear Form. Bear Form still stops Energy regeneration. - A high rank of
Rejuvenation no longer blocks the Rejuvenation of other Druids.
Hunter
- A Hunter may have one Fire trap and one Ice trap active at the same time (was one trap in total). Fire traps now scale with Attack Power. Pets benefit from Expertise and use the higher of melee and ranged critical strike chance.
- Pets:
Dismember (Crocolisk) reduces healing by 25% for 6 seconds with a 15 second cooldown (was 50%, 10 seconds and 6 seconds).
Sonic Blast (Bat) slows casting by 30% for 20 seconds with a 60 second cooldown (was 60%, 30 and 30). Mine! (Bird of Prey) lasts 3 seconds with a 90 second cooldown (was 4 and 60). - Survival:
Strider Kick works while disarmed.
Resourcefulness only triggers on critical strikes of melee and ranged abilities, not on traps.
Mage
- Frost Blast is a new spell at level 24. It deals damage and slows the target by 40%, with a 1.5 second cast, and every talent for
Frostbolt applies to it. Mages used rank 1 of Frostbolt for that, but lower ranks now lose power, says Blizzard. Frost Blast costs more Mana and deals a little more damage. - Arcane:
Arcane Blast becomes a 1.5 second cast. Every cast adds 15% of Intellect as spell damage for 15 seconds, up to 4 times, and makes the next one more expensive. Its damage drops by 40%.
Missile Barrage moves to the first row as a 2-point talent. Arcane
Wrath is the new 16-point talent: a 3.5 second cast with the base damage of
Fireball, plus damage as if the Mage had 5% of maximum Mana as extra spell power, with a 6 second cooldown. - Fire:
Critical Mass takes 5 points for 10% critical strike chance.
Fire Power now has 3 points and raises Fire damage by up to 3% per Fire effect of the Mage on the target, up to 12%.
Wake of Fire becomes Improved
Fire Blast again, with more range. - Frost:
Ice Lance deals 200% more damage to frozen targets (was 300%).
Cone of Cold slows the first four targets 10% more and 3 seconds longer.
Winter’s Chill no longer raises critical strike chance; it now strengthens the next Cone of Cold, up to 5 stacks.
Paladin
- Salvation and Mass Salvation replace the two Blessings of Salvation and stack with another Blessing. The new spell Revoke removes Salvation from a party or raid member.
- Protection:
Reckoning now stores up to 4 charges, released together on the next melee swing without resetting the swing timer. Shield Specialization restores 4% Mana (was 6%). - Retribution: Champion of the Light gives 10, 20 or 30% of Intellect as spell damage (was 20, 40 or 60%).
Seal of Righteousness gained almost twice as much from spell damage as intended; that is fixed.
Consecration scales less with spell power.
Righteous Fury raises Holy threat by 90% (was 60%).
Priest
Devouring Plague drops to a 24 second cooldown (was 1 minute).
Shadow Word: Death rises to 18 seconds (was 12).- Shadow:
Vampiric Embrace has a 30 second cooldown and cannot be resisted. Improved Fade and Shadow Infinity are gone. Dark Inspiration is new in row 4:
Mind Blast and a full
Mind Flay raise the Spirit of the party by up to 15% for 10 seconds.
Devouring Contagion spreads to two targets. - Discipline:
Mental Strength moves to row 2 and raises Intellect by up to 10%. Power in Light strengthens
Smite and
Penance when
Holy Fire or Shadow Word: Pain is on the target.
Rogue
- Poisons no longer trigger against targets that attack the Rogue, and
Sap no longer triggers weapon effects. Switching specializations to refill Energy no longer works. - Assassination:
Cold Blood is now used up when
Mutilate lands a critical strike.
Shaman
Chain Lightning costs about 35% less Mana.
Fire Nova deals much less damage and costs much less Mana.- Elemental: Elemental Mastery returns as the 31-point talent. It cuts the cast time of
Lightning Bolt and
Lava Burst by 0.5 seconds and removes the cooldown of Chain Lightning for 15 seconds, with a 3 minute cooldown. Lava Burst moves to 21 points and gets a fourth rank.
Earthbound becomes the 16-point talent, and
Call of Thunder is gone. - Enhancement:
Stormstrike costs 8% of base Mana (was 125 Mana at every level). - Restoration:
Mana Tide Totem gets an extra rank at level 38.
Water Shield triggers on every critical spell. Tidal Focus and Totemic Focus swap rows.
Warlock
- Affliction:
Malediction makes way for Grim Reach, which raises the range of Affliction spells by 10 or 20%.
Shadow Mastery raises Shadow damage by up to 10% (was 5%). - Destruction:
Destructive Reach now raises the range of Destruction spells.
Warrior
Slam no longer suffers spell pushback.
Overpower works again against much lower level enemies.- Fury:
Lingering Rage no longer stops Health regeneration after combat.
All of this applies to the beta. Whether the values stay the same for the launch on 4 November, Blizzard does not say.
