Blacksmithing in Cata Classic runs from 450 to 525 on Obsidium and Elementium, which makes Mining the natural partner. Make your Folded Obsidium first, because the next steps use about 85 of them. Counts are approximate: a recipe can turn green a few points earlier or later.

• The Bloodthirsty patterns are sold by the blacksmithing supplies vendors in the capital cities. The Ornate versions use Volatile Water instead of Volatile Fire.
• Hardened Obsidium Belt, Redsteel Belt and Stormforged Belt give the same skill, so pick the one whose extra materials are cheapest.
