Blacksmithing leveling guide
Blacksmithing in Classic Era runs from 1 to 300 on stone and metal bars, which makes Mining the natural partner. The route below uses trainer recipes until 265; after that, plans from a quest in Tanaris take over. Counts are approximate: a recipe can turn green a few points earlier or later.

Smelt the bars yourself with Mining: Bronze Bar from Copper and Tin, and Steel Bar from Iron Bar and Coal. Green Dye comes from the tailoring or leatherworking supplies vendor.

Trainers and tips
- Apprentice and Journeyman training is available in the capitals, Expert training in Ironforge and Orgrimmar, and Artisan training from 225 only from Brikk Keencraft in Booty Bay.
- Keep a Blacksmith Hammer in your bags. The trade supplies vendor sells it.
- Derotain Mudsipper in Gadgetzan trades the plans for Imperial Plate Belt, Bracers and Boots for Thorium Bars.
- At 200 and character level 40 you can choose Armorsmithing or Weaponsmithing. You do not need either to reach 300.
