Engineering leveling guide

Engineering in Cata Classic runs from 450 to 525 on Obsidium, Elementium and a few volatiles, which makes Mining the natural partner. Many recipes give several points at once, so you build far fewer items than in earlier expansions. Counts are approximate: a recipe can turn green a few points earlier or later.

Make about 22 Electrified Ether on the first step, since later recipes use them. Handful of Obsidium Bolts takes 2 Obsidium Bar each, and the route needs about 55. Dream Emerald comes from a jewelcrafter or an alchemist.

• Illustrious Grand Master Engineering is taught by the engineering trainers in the capital cities, such as Stormwind City and Orgrimmar, from character level 75.
• R19 Threatfinder works as well as Safety Catch Removal Kit on the 460-470 step if you have Alicite to spare.
• Lure Master Tackle Box and Elementium Dragonling are useful to keep, so not every item on this route goes to a vendor.
