Herbalism in WoW Forever: trainers, leveling and new herbs
Herbalism is a gathering tradeskill: you pick herbs from plants all over the world. Alchemists always need them, and in WoW Forever more tradeskills use herbs than before. On the way to level 60 you pass herbs everywhere, so it earns gold while you level.

What changes in Forever
- Camp objects. Herbalists build the
Incense Candle, which gives everyone sitting at the camp Intellect like
Arcane Intellect, the
Greenhouse and the
Seed Hybridizer. How a campsite works is in the camping guide. - Tauren get more out of
Cultivation: it now duplicates a nearby herb instead of adding a flat bonus to the skill. Since 27 September it needs a minimum level, see the post about it. - Extras from herbs. Besides the herb you sometimes get a seed,
Commonplace Herb Seeds,
Uncommon Herb Seeds,
Unusual Herb Seeds or
Scarce Herb Seeds, or a Scarce material:
Frilled Lichen,
Rosecap or
Stranglevine. Which herb gives which is not known yet. - New herbs for the endgame:
Marefoil,
Demonsage and
Death Lotus. Where they grow and which skill they need is not known yet. - More herbs early. Even starting areas such as Northshire have spawns of
Peacebloom and
Silverleaf. - A free start. An early quest in every starting zone lets you choose
Wild Harvest, which teaches Apprentice Herbalism.
A good pair: Mining, because you pass veins on the same routes, or Alchemy, which uses almost every herb. Druids avoid fights with
Prowl and
Travel Form; Hunters and Warlocks let the pet hold a monster while they pick, and a Hunter drops combat with
Feign Death.
Trainers
Three trainers in the starting areas teach only Apprentice. The others teach every rank, once you have the skill and the character level.

Frequently asked questions
Do Tauren still get a Herbalism bonus in WoW Forever?
Yes, and a bigger one. Cultivation no longer adds a flat bonus to the skill; it now duplicates a nearby herb.
Do you need a tool for Herbalism?
No. Turn on Find Herbs to see the herbs on your minimap, and pick any herb your skill allows.
