Journey and Zygor compared

Journey and Zygor both guide you from 1 to 60 in World of Warcraft: Forever, with an arrow to the next objective. They are built in a different way. Journey is a new leveling route by speedrunners that you buy once. Zygor is one of the oldest guide addons, with guides for much more than leveling, sold as a subscription.

What Journey offers

The free part already has Forever’s new quests, the Skyborne start on Zephras Isle and the class quests of the new race and class combinations. On 4 November, levels 30 to 60 start on the classic route; about a week later Forever’s new quests are added, around five levels every four to five days. A purchase covers every character on one Battle.net account. More in the post about Journey. Journey builds its Forever routes on Joana’s original 1 to 60 routes; how it relates to Joana’s Guides is in Journey and Joana’s Guides compared.

What Zygor offers

Zygor updates its 1 to 60 guides for the new zones, the Skyborne start and the new race and class combinations, and adds guides for the nine new dungeons. Its travel system and talent advisor get Forever updates too. Zygor warns that the beta’s level cap limits what it can test, so the route may be partly updated at launch and completed afterwards.

Which one fits whom

• You want to pay once. Journey costs less than three months of Zygor Elite and stays yours.
• You want to try first. Journey is free up to level 30; Zygor has a free trial.
• You want one addon for leveling, dungeons, gear and talents. Zygor covers more ground.
• You already pay for Zygor Elite for other versions. Forever comes with it at no extra cost.
