Fury Warrior guide for WoW Forever

The Fury Warrior in WoW Forever is the berserker: two weapons, fast swings and a Rage bar that fills with every critical strike. The rotation is quick and reactive, and Cleave and Whirlwind make Fury one of the best specs against several enemies. This guide covers the level 30 build, rotation, Rage, stance dancing, stats, weapons and races.

Role Melee damage with two weapons
Build at level 30 26 points in Fury, with the 5 extra points from Talented
Key talents Cruelty, Unbridled Wrath, Furious Precision, Dual Wield Specialization, Enrage, Death Wish
Strength Quick, reactive rotation, very strong cleave
Weakness A PvE kit that does nothing for your own survival
Leveling Warrior leveling guide, Warrior level build
Other specs Arms Warrior, Protection Warrior

What changes for Fury

  • Cruelty gives 5% more critical strike chance with melee attacks at 5/5.
  • Unbridled Wrath now has a 60% chance to give 1 extra Rage on every melee hit at 5/5.
  • Furious Precision is new. 10% more chance to hit with your off-hand at 3/3.
  • Dual Wield Specialization does more. 25% more off-hand damage and 50% more Rage from off-hand attacks.
  • Enrage gives a 30% chance for 10% more physical damage for 12 seconds after you take a hit.
  • Death Wish gives 20% more physical damage and Fear immunity for 30 seconds, but you take 5% more damage.
  • Bloodthirst is no longer based on your weapon. It deals 45% of your attack power plus 30, which makes it strong with one-handed weapons, and gives 10% movement speed.

Strengths and weaknesses

Strengths Weaknesses
Every critical strike gives a burst of Rage, so the rotation stays lively Berserker Stance and Death Wish make you easier to kill
Cleave and Whirlwind make Fury unmatched against packs Nothing in the spec helps you against players
Recklessness and Death Wish for big burst Whirlwind hits everything around you, so your tank must keep up

The level 30 build

This build uses 26 points: the 21 points of level 30 plus 5 from Talented in the Legacy system. Without Talented, stop at 21 points; the Warrior level build gives the order per level. Open the build in the talent calculator.

Talent Points
Cruelty 5/5
Unbridled Wrath 5/5
Furious Precision 3/3
Blood Craze 2/3
Dual Wield Specialization 5/5
Enrage 5/5
Death Wish 1/1

The level 30 Fury Warrior build in our talent calculator

After level 30 come Flurry, for 25% more attack speed after a critical strike, and Bloodthirst at the bottom of the tree.

What the key talents do

Talent What it does in Forever
Cruelty 5% more critical strike chance. More crits means more Rage
Unbridled Wrath A 60% chance for 1 extra Rage on every hit
Furious Precision 10% more hit chance with your off-hand
Dual Wield Specialization 25% more off-hand damage and 50% more Rage from it
Enrage 10% more physical damage for 12 seconds, often enough to matter
Death Wish A strong damage cooldown, and even stronger with Recklessness
Flurry 25% more attack speed for 3 swings after a critical strike. After level 30
Bloodthirst An instant attack based on attack power instead of weapon damage. After level 30

Rotation

  1. Spend extra Rage on Heroic Strike, or Cleave against several enemies, so it is never wasted.
  2. Keep Battle Shout up.
  3. Stack Sunder Armor.
  4. Execute when the target is low enough.
  5. Bloodthirst, once you have it.
  6. Whirlwind, once you have it.
  7. Hamstring when nothing else is ready and you have Rage to spare.

Stance dancing. Rend scales better in Forever and Overpower costs little Rage, so short trips to Battle Stance for Rend and Overpower can pay off. You lose most of your Rage when you switch, so do not build Rage in Battle Stance and keep the trip short.

Cooldowns and utility

  • Retaliation and Shield Wall when you are the target.
  • Berserker Rage to ignore Fear and Incapacitate effects.
  • Recklessness is the strongest damage cooldown in the game.
  • Death Wish only for Fury, strongest together with Recklessness.
  • Bloodrage freely, for extra Rage.

Movement

Stay on the boss. Out of combat, Charge gives Rage and puts you in the fight at once, but switching stances to use it drains most of your Rage, so it is often only worth it when the tank is ahead of you. In combat you have Intercept, which works in Berserker Stance but costs Rage.

Rage

Rage is everything. With endless Rage you would never stop pressing buttons, so plan ahead and keep enough for your important attacks. If a Heroic Strike leaves Bloodthirst or Whirlwind waiting for a second or two, that was a mistake. Keep your Rage moving: never full, never empty.

Stats and gear

The exact order at level 60 follows after the launch. These stats help a Fury Warrior:

  • Hit chance. A miss deals nothing and gives no Rage.
  • Critical strike chance. More damage and more Rage, one of the best stats you can get. Agility adds some critical strike chance too.
  • Strength and attack power. Your main stat: 1 Strength gives 2 attack power, so Strength is worth more per point.

Armor. Plate is ideal, but Mail or Leather with the right stats can be better. Forever has no penalty for wearing a lighter armor type, you just have less Armor. Blacksmiths make good leveling gear for every Warrior spec, and dungeons have plenty more.

Weapons. The most important part of your gear. You dual wield, ideally with a slow, hard-hitting main hand. A ranged weapon only counts for its stats.

Races and professions

Every race can play a Warrior. Every pick works, but some are stronger.

Faction Race Why
Alliance Human Ruthless: 2% more critical strike chance. The strongest pick
Alliance Dwarf More critical strike damage, but much weaker than Human
Alliance Gnome A burst cooldown that can be very strong
Alliance Night Elf Elune’s Light, a critical strike cooldown for Rage and damage on demand
Alliance High Order Skyborne Wind Blessed: Haste, which is rare and strong for you
Horde Orc Blood Fury for attack power and extra critical strike chance
Horde Troll More damage to Beasts and Berserking for attack speed on demand
Horde Undead Touch of the Grave deals damage and heals you a little
Horde Tauren War Stomp, more critical strike damage and Plainsrunning for speed while you keep moving
Horde Windshaper Skyborne Haste and a speed cooldown that comes in handy

Professions. Blacksmithing makes some of the best Mail and Plate gear, much of it only for Blacksmiths. Engineering has useful gadgets for every spec.

Frequently asked questions

Is Fury Warrior good in WoW Forever?

Yes, for PvE. Fury dual wields, gets Rage from every critical strike and has some of the best cleave damage in the game with Cleave and Whirlwind. It cares little about its own survival, which makes it weaker in PvP.

Which weapons does a Fury Warrior use?

Two one-handed weapons, ideally with a slow, hard-hitting main hand. A ranged weapon is only there for its stats.

Should a Fury Warrior stance dance?

Maybe. Rend scales better in Forever and Overpower costs little Rage, so short trips to Battle Stance can pay off. Every point of Rage you lose by switching stances costs damage, so keep those trips short.

When does a Fury Warrior get Bloodthirst?

Bloodthirst is the last talent of the Fury tree and needs 30 points in it, so level 39 at the earliest, or a few levels sooner with Talented from the Legacy system. The level 30 build stops at Death Wish.

Which race is best for a Fury Warrior?

Human for the Alliance, for 2% more critical strike chance. Orc for the Horde, for Blood Fury and extra critical strike chance. Every race can play a Warrior, and every pick works.

Is there a level 60 build yet?

Not yet. The beta stops at level 30, and builds for level 60 follow after the launch on 4 November.
