Blizzard describes all nine new dungeons
Blizzard has described all nine new dungeons of World of Warcraft: Forever, from level 13 to 60. Six lie in the Eastern Kingdoms and three in Kalimdor. One range changed: the Excavation Site is now for levels 24 to 29 instead of 26 to 31.
| Dungeon | Levels | Where |
|---|---|---|
| The Hall of Thanes | 13 to 18 | Beneath Ironforge, Dun Morogh |
| Ruins of Lordaeron | 15 to 20 | Above the Undercity, Tirisfal Glades |
| Excavation Site | 24 to 29 | Above Whelgar’s Excavation, Wetlands |
| City of Dalaran | 28 to 33 | Alterac Mountains |
| The Drowned City | 35 to 40 | Off the coast of Stranglethorn Vale |
| Krol’dok Stronghold | 40 to 45 | Riverglades |
| Alcaz Prison | 48 to 53 | Alcaz Island, Dustwallow Marsh |
| Blackmaw Hold | 55 to 60 | Azshara |
| Shaper’s Terrace | 58 to 60 | Un’Goro Crater |
The first four are already on the beta and have their own guide. The other five open above the level cap of 30. Blizzard published the list on 20 October and points to podcast episode 3 for more about leveling in dungeons.
The Hall of Thanes
The burial hall of the dwarven kings beneath Ironforge. Intruders, probably Dark Iron dwarves, have broken in. The Alliance walks in from its own capital; the Horde has to travel deep into Alliance territory. All four bosses are in the walkthrough.

Ruins of Lordaeron
The Forsaken want to take back the ruined city above the Undercity, where the Scourge still roams. A necromancer is gathering power there. For the Horde the entrance is close to the Undercity; the Alliance has to go into Horde territory.

Excavation Site
Near Thelgen Rock and Dun Algaz, a strange mist drifts down from the mountains above Whelgar’s Excavation. Behind the dig lies a place that seems frozen in time, with titan constructs and dangerous wildlife. Blizzard now gives 24 to 29, two levels lower than before; the quests could already be picked up at level 24.

City of Dalaran
The barrier around Dalaran has fallen, and the city is full of arcane chaos: enchantments backfire and constructs run wild. You need the trust of the Kirin Tor first. The Alliance starts with An Alarming Request from Emissary Jacques in Southshore, the Horde with
Key to the City and Prison Break In from Magus Wordeen Voidglare in Tarren Mill. The group enters through the sewers and picks its own path through the city.
The Drowned City
Old troll ruins have risen from the sea west of Grom’gol. Trolls and naga roam the streets, and a pirate ship next to it came to a bad end. The entrance is under water. The dungeon is open to the sky, and during the run mist and rain build into a storm before the last fight.

Krol’dok Stronghold
Ogre outrunners kidnap travelers and plunder villages all over the Riverglades. Their trail leads to Krol’dok Stronghold, a large fortress with workshops, camps and guarded passages inside. After dark, strange chanting comes from the stronghold. More about the level range is in this post.

Alcaz Prison
The prison on Alcaz Island in Dustwallow Marsh was long said to hold important prisoners, King Varian Wrynn among them, but nobody could get in. Now its doors open. Inside, the Defias Brotherhood and naga fight each other, and new pieces of a familiar mystery wait.

Blackmaw Hold
Behind a gate in Azshara that has long been sealed lies a large furbolg city. The Blackmaw clan fights a corruption that spreads through its groves and mountain tunnels. Blizzard calls it a substantial max-level dungeon with several routes and bosses, and the deepest part may lead even further below Azeroth. The gate is in this post.

Shaper’s Terrace
An old titan facility high in the northern hills of Un’Goro Crater, with dinosaurs, tar pits and crystals. Bring the power crystals you collect in Un’Goro: they work on consoles inside the terrace, so what you find outside counts in the dungeon.
