Dungeon enemies give 50% more experience
Killing enemies in a dungeon gives 50% more experience in World of Warcraft: Forever. Blizzard deployed the hotfix on Sunday 8 November at about 11.05 PST, which is 20.05 in Belgium. No patch or restart is needed.
Community manager Kaivax gives the reason on the forums: going back in for more runs should feel better. He ends with a wink at
Deviate Hide, the hide from Wailing Caverns that often takes several runs to collect.
What changes
Only kill experience inside dungeons goes up. Nothing changes for quest experience, or for enemies in the open world.
During the beta, Blizzard went the other way. In the level 30 build, dungeon quests lost half of their bonus experience, because testers leveled too fast. That cut stays. The new boost is for the runs you do after your quests are turned in.
Why it matters
Long dungeons with trash you cannot skip, like Wailing Caverns, gave little reward for a second run. Grouping already slowed down questing, so many players leveled alone. With 50% more kill experience, a full run is a real alternative to questing again.
All dungeons, with loot, quests and boss tactics, are in our dungeon guides.
