Ragefire Chasm: the dungeon guide for WoW Forever

Ragefire Chasm is a network of volcanic caves under Orgrimmar, where the Burning Blade cult hides from the Horde. For most Horde players it is the first dungeon of WoW Forever: short, straight and with simple fights. Four bosses and six quests wait inside.

Horde. Walk into the Cleft of Shadow in Orgrimmar and look for the portal deep inside.

Alliance. Ragefire Chasm lies in the middle of a Horde capital. Take the boat to Ratchet and run to the northeastern tip of The Barrens, where the west entrance of Orgrimmar is quieter. Take off your gear and make a corpse run into the Cleft of Shadow until you can zone in.

After a wipe, the Spirit Healer stands in Durotar, outside the city.

  • Slaying the Beast. Bring Taragaman the Hungerer’s Heart from Taragaman the Hungerer. He stands in the middle of the cross-shaped path before the last room.
  • The Power to Destroy… Loot Spells of Shadow and Incantations from the Nether. Both drop from the Searing Blade Cultists and Searing Blade Warlocks in the second half of the dungeon.
  • Testing an Enemy’s Strength. Kill 8 Ragefire Troggs and 8 Ragefire Shamans, in the first big room and the tunnels around it.
  • Searching for the Lost Satchel. Maur Grimtotem hides in a small cave to the right of the first trogg room, guarded by Oggleflint and two elite troggs. Maur gives you Returning the Lost Satchel, which goes back to Rahauro.
  • Hidden Enemies. A chain of Thrall. First a Lieutenant’s Insignia from the Burning Blade in Skull Rock, east of Orgrimmar, then a talk with Neeru Fireblade. The last step asks you to kill Bazzalan and Jergosh the Invoker inside.

The bosses and their loot

The loot per boss comes from Wowhead, with the stats from the files of the beta.

Oggleflint

A trogg chief with two troggs at his side. Crowd control one, kill the other first, and turn Oggleflint away from the group because of his Cleave. No special loot.

Taragaman the Hungerer

He stands on a platform surrounded by lava. Pull him away from the edge so his Uppercut does not knock anyone into the lava, and keep the ranged at maximum range for Fire Nova.

Item New in Forever
Cursed Felblade Blue, more damage, and its effect lowers attack power by 24 instead of 15
Subterranean Cape Blue, Strength and 5 health every 5 seconds
Crystalline Cuffs Blue, Stamina and Spirit instead of Intellect

Jergosh the Invoker

In the last room, with two adds that can both be crowd controlled. He casts Immolate and Curse of Weakness, which makes it harder for the tank to hold threat.

Bazzalan

Up the right-hand ramp before Jergosh. The add on the right can be pulled without him. Bazzalan hits hard with Sinister Strike and Deadly Poison, so kill him quickly. No special loot.

  • The drop rates of the boss loot.
  • The quest rewards may still change during the beta.
