The Stockade: the dungeon guide for WoW Forever

The Stockade is the prison of Stormwind, deep under the canals of the city. The inmates have broken out of their cells and nobody is guarding them anymore. An Alliance group goes in to put down the riot. The dungeon is the same as in Classic, apart from the loot.

Getting there

The entrance is in The Canals of Stormwind City, near The Mage Quarter, at /way 42 58. Warden Thelwater stands right outside and hands out two of the quests. For the Horde, a prison in the middle of Stormwind is nearly out of reach at this level.

The layout

The cell block is a T. A corridor goes straight ahead, and at its end two wings branch off to the left and the right. The wings can be cleared in any order.

  1. The corridor. Targorr the Dread is usually the first boss you meet. Elite Defias nearby often join the fight.
  2. The wings. Kam Deepfury, Hamhock, Dextren Ward and Bazil Thredd are spread over the two wings, each with Defias around them. The rare Bruegal Ironknuckle does not always spawn.

  • Quell the Uprising. Kill 10 Defias Prisoners, 8 Defias Convicts and 8 Defias Insurgents.
  • The Color of Blood. Nikova Raskol wants 10 Red Wool Bandanas. They drop from the Defias Captives, Convicts, Inmates, Insurgents and Prisoners, and from Bazil Thredd, Bruegal Ironknuckle and Dextren Ward.
  • Crime and Punishment. Bring the Hand of Dextren Ward to Councilman Millstipe in Darkshire.
  • What Comes Around… Bring the Head of Targorr to Guard Berton in Lakeshire.
  • The Fury Runs Deep. Bring the Head of Deepfury to Motley Garmason at Dun Modr. Before that, The Dark Iron War for the same NPC: 25 silver, 2,450 experience and 100 reputation with Ironforge, writes Warcraft Tavern.
  • The Stockade Riots. Bring the Head of Bazil Thredd to Warden Thelwater. The road there starts with An Unsent Letter from Edwin VanCleef in The Deadmines. Baros Alexston in Stormwind sends you on to the Warden with Bazil Thredd. After this quest the chain continues in Stormwind, with more reputation with Stormwind.

The bosses and their loot

Targorr the Dread

A level 24 elite Blackrock orc. A plain fight on the tank. Kill any Defias that join first.

Kam Deepfury

A level 27 elite Dark Iron dwarf. He hits hard and stuns his target with Shield Slam. An early stun makes it hard for the tank to hold threat, and the healer has to catch the spike.

Hamhock

A level 28 elite ogre mage with two Defias. Kill the Defias first. His Chain Lightning can be interrupted, and his Bloodlust can be purged by a Shaman or a Priest.

Dextren Ward

A level 26 elite human. He hits hard and casts Intimidating Shout, which sends the party running. The healer has to stay in range of the tank when it ends.

Bazil Thredd

A level 29 elite and the strongest of the prisoners, with adds around him. Clear the room before you pull him. He hits the tank hard.

Bruegal Ironknuckle, a rare

Every boss of the Stockade can drop uncommon items, writes Wowhead, but only Bruegal Ironknuckle reliably drops valuable gear.

A level 26 rare elite who does not always spawn. He is the only boss with real loot, three blue items that all improved in the files of the beta:

Item New in Forever
Iron Knuckles The interrupt hit goes from 4 to 25 damage
Prison Shank Slightly more damage and Agility
Jimmied Handcuffs 1 Stamina more

All three now need level 23 instead of 21.

Kam’s Walking Stick was an item that binds when equipped in Classic. In the files of the beta it binds when picked up, with 10 Agility, up to 32 spell damage and healing, and 10% shorter movement impairing effects. Where it drops in Forever is not known.

What is not known yet

  • The drop rates of the boss loot.
  • Kam’s Walking Stick: which monster drops it now.
  • The quest rewards that Wowhead does not list yet.
