5Getting there
Alliance. Ride west from Ironforge to the Train Depot, the front gate of Gnomeregan in western Dun Morogh at /way 17.7 39.2.
Horde. Pick up Rig Wars from Nogg in Orgrimmar, then Chief Engineer Scooty from Sovik next to him. Take the boat from Ratchet to Booty Bay, where Scooty stands on the docks near the inn. His Gnomer-gooooone! gives the
Goblin Transponder, which beams you to Gnomeregan. Keep it for later runs.
Two doors. The front entrance on the west side of the Train Depot leads to the Clockwork Run. The back door on the north side leads to the Engineering Labs and Crowd Pummeler 9-60; it needs the
Workshop Key or a Rogue with Lockpicking 150.

The route
Four levels, each with its own map above. The numbers match the bosses.
- The Hall of Gears. Talk to Blastmaster Emi Shortfuse to start the event. Troggs pour out of the caves before Emi blows them shut, and Grubbis (1) comes out of the second one. Keep Emi alive.
- The irradiated floor. Viscous Fallout (2) waits on the ground floor among the irradiated monsters. Kernobee for A Fine Mess and The Sparklematic 5200 are in the Clean Zone and the Dormitory nearby.
- The Launch Bay. Electrocutioner 6000 (3) stands on the raised launch pad. He drops the Workshop Key.
- The Engineering Labs. Crowd Pummeler 9-60 (4) waits on the upper south ledge. The rare Dark Iron Ambassador can patrol the tunnel beyond.
- The Tinkers’ Court. Mekgineer Thermaplugg (5), with Thermaplugg’s Safe for Rig Wars in his room.
Important trash
Irradiated monsters. The slimes, lurkers and horrors around Viscous Fallout leave a radiation that hurts. They are also the source of the fallout for The Only Cure is More Green Glow.
Dark Iron Agents. They show up in many places and plant Land Mines. They also drop the
Grime-Encrusted Ring.
Mechanical packs. Mechano-Tanks, Mechano-Flamewalkers and Mechano-Frostwalkers come in groups. Area damage helps, and most of them drop
Robo-mechanical Guts for Gyrodrillmatic Excavationators.
The bosses
Grubbis
The end of the event of Blastmaster Emi Shortfuse. Waves of troggs come first; then Grubbis arrives with his pet Chomper. Emi has to survive, so pick up every trogg that runs at her. Kill Chomper first; both can be stunned and feared.
Viscous Fallout
A big ooze on the irradiated ground floor and a plain fight on the tank. Clear the trash around him first. He is immune to Frost damage.
Electrocutioner 6000
He casts
Chain Bolt, Megavolt and Shock; the first two cannot be interrupted. Spread out so Chain Bolt does not jump through the whole group.
Crowd Pummeler 9-60
Arcing Smash, Crowd Pummel and Trample hit everyone in front of and around him. Melee players stand at his sides and back, ranged players far away.
Mekgineer Thermaplugg
The final boss, in the Tinkers’ Court. Tank him in the middle of the room.
Knock Away throws the tank back and resets his threat, so damage dealers hold back for a moment after each one. Walking Bombs come out of six dispensers, more often below 50% and 20% health: kill them before they reach the group, or send one player to press the button on the right of each dispenser.
What is not known yet
- The drop rates of the boss loot.
- The quest rewards may still change before the launch.
