Entrance. Swim to the temple in the lake, go down to the Hall of Bones and through the wide doorway to the portal.
2345The Sunken Temple was closed on the beta, which stopped at level 30. This guide follows the dungeon as it was in Classic, with the boss levels from the Forever data. Blizzard has not said whether the dungeon changes for Forever.
Getting there
The temple lies half under water in the lake in the middle of the Swamp of Sorrows. Stonard is close for the Horde; the Alliance comes through Deadwind Pass or north from Nethergarde Keep. Swim across the Broken Hall, follow the path to the Hall of Masks and leave by the south door. Keep left, go round the corner to the Den of the Caller and take the doorway with the mask. Through the Hall of Ritual you go down into the Hall of Bones; the portal is in the wide doorway on the other side. Expect elites of level 46 to 48 in the water.
The route
The numbers match the map above.
- The Pit of Refuse. To the right of the portal, on the same level. Click the six shrines in the right order to call Atal’alarion (1); he is not on the map. Do not jump into the pit from above: the fall kills.
- The balconies. Six troll guardians stand on platforms around the upper ring: Loro, Hukku, Zul’Lor, Zolo, Mijan and Gasher. All six must die before the way down opens.
- The prophet. Jammal’an the Prophet (2) waits with Ogom the Wretched in the Lair of the Chosen.
- The dragons. After Jammal’an, Weaver and Dreamscythe appear, then Hazzas and Morphaz (3).
- Eranikus. The Shade of Eranikus (4) waits at the end.
- Hakkar. The Avatar of Hakkar (5) only comes with The God Hakkar, in a small room on the west side.
The bosses
Atal’alarion
Click the shrines in this order: south, north, southwest, southeast, northwest, northeast. The wrong order brings a curse. Sweeping
Slam hits in front of him and his knockback causes fall damage: tank him against a wall, and the healer stays at range.
The troll guardians
Elites of level 51 and 52 with little health; stuns work. Hukku summons a Voidwalker, Imp and Succubus, Zolo calls skeletons, Mijan drops a Healing Ward and Zul’Lor casts Frailty. Interrupt the casters.
Jammal’an the Prophet and Ogom the Wretched
Clear the trolls and Deathwalkers in the eastern passage first. Kill Ogom first, he has less health. Do not stand together for
Flamestrike. Hex of Jammal’an turns a player into a berserker who hits everyone around, so keep away from that player. Dispel Shadow Word: Pain and decurse
Curse of Weakness.
The dragons
Weaver and Dreamscythe walk similar paths; pull one at a time. Hazzas and Morphaz come together. All four knock back and breathe in front, so the tank turns them to a wall away from the group.
Shade of Eranikus
Clear every dragon in the temple first, or they join. His breath hits in front. Deep Slumber puts the player with the most threat to sleep, so a second tank or a pet takes over; a
Grounding Totem stops it.
War Stomp keeps hitting the tank. A long fight: save mana.
Avatar of Hakkar
Kill the four Hakkari Bloodkeepers as they come and use their Hakkari Blood on the four braziers. Before the last brazier, stand together against the wall to rest. Cause Insanity takes over a player: stun or crowd control that player. Dispel Shadow Word: Pain and remove
Curse of Tongues.
Class quests
In Classic every class had a quest here, for example Destroy Morphaz for Mages, Blood of Morphaz for Priests and The Green Drake for Hunters. Whether these quests exist in Forever is not known.
What is not known yet
- The rewards of the nine quests in the Forever data.
- The loot: 18 of the 25 Classic items are not in the Forever data yet.
- Changes for Forever: the dungeon was closed on the beta.
